Looking to build your complex care skills? Find the courses and trainings described below on the Camden Coalition Learning Center.
With subject matter based on our experiences working with individuals with complex health and social needs in Camden, our custom-designed courses can support you in caring for complex populations. The Camden Coalition Learning Center is a collection of curated content by practitioners who have worked directly with individuals in their roles as community health workers, social workers, and nurses. Courses are experience-based and action-oriented and designed to provide learners with new skills to apply to their practice.
Complex Care Certificate
The Complex Care Certificate is a comprehensive self-paced online certificate containing nine courses designed to build frontline providers’ knowledge, skills, and confidence in delivering person-centered care for people with complex needs. Based in the complex care core competencies, this certificate is for individuals and teams from all disciplines and in all settings who are working with people with complex health and social needs. Each course also includes a set of activities that teams can do together to apply the lessons to their population and setting, create a shared framework, and ensure common understanding. Individual courses are also available for purchase.
This certificate can be started at any time and CEUs are available.
COACH
Introducing COACH: Moving out of the “fix it” framework towards sustainable change, virtual, instructor-led trainings with supplemental reflection and learning activities to give you the knowledge, tools, and experience to implement our COACH patient engagement framework. This course is a unique e-learning experience that will reshape the way you interact with and deliver care to individuals you work with. Participants can expect to learn concrete behaviors that will elevate patient engagement, patient outcomes, and lead to sustainable change.
CEUs are available upon course completion.

- November 4, 6,8, & 12 from 1-3 pm ET
RELATE
RELATE: A reflective approach to supervising is a three-hour virtual training that will give supervisors of team members who work directly with participants the knowledge, tools, and experience to implement our RELATE supervisory framework. In this virtual, instructor-led training, you will learn concrete behaviors that will help you prepare your frontline staff to be more introspective, self-aware, and able to handle the emotional impact of complex care work. This unique learning experience will reshape the way you manage staff.
CEUs are available upon course completion.
Whole-person care for people who use drugs
Whole-person care for people who use drugs will cover the neuroscience of addiction, dive into some of the commonly used medication assisted treatments for opioid use disorders, discuss stigma around addiction, explore strategies for use of person-centered language, introduce trauma informed approaches to care, and harm reduction practices that support whole person care. This virtual course is intended for anyone who is working in the addiction space and/or are interested in learning basic knowledge, skills, and techniques to support their work with individuals experiencing addiction or substance use disorder.
CEUs are available upon course completion.

Skills Lab
Designed in the just-in-time learning style, Skills Labs are fast, on demand, and focused self-paced online modules. Our Skills Lab micro-learning modules provide learners with the knowledge and skill sets needed to navigate complex care interactions, like building relationships, trauma-informed care, harm reduction, de-escalation and much more.
Each skills lab includes:
- One to three micro-learning modules that deliver concrete and practical implementation strategies, and a role-play video between a patient and practitioner so the learner can see the skills in action.
- Printable resources that allow practitioners to reference knowledge and skills wherever they are providing care.
The skills labs will be released in late 2024!
Certificate for complex care team leaders
A certificate for complex care team leaders will be self-paced online courses for people supervising the complex care frontline workforce and programs. It will be based on the Core competencies for complex care team leaders and appropriate for supervisors and managers from all disciplines and in all settings who are overseeing teams and programs supporting people with complex health and social needs. It will be designed to be paired with the Complex Care Certificate for frontline staff.
