Transportation

A variety of transportation options are available from Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport (OAK) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to the Marriott.

 

Subway: BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)

  • San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Downtown Oakland
    • Board a Yellow Line (San Francisco/Antioch) train or a Red Line (San Francisco/Richmond) train to the 12th St/City Center Station and you’ll be right in downtown, a few blocks from Oakland Chinatown and Jack London Square. Additional information can be found here.
  • Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport (OAK) to Downtown Oakland
    • Take BART from OAK to Coliseum Station. From Coliseum Station, transfer to an Orange Line (Richmond) train. It takes about 12 minutes to get to the 12th St/Oakland City Center Station located downtown, a few blocks from Oakland Chinatown and Jack London Square. To return to OAK, take an Orange Line (Berryessa) train to the Coliseum Station and go upstairs to transfer to an OAK train at Platform 3. Additional information can be found here.
  • Paying for your trip
    • BART fare gates now accept contactless bank cards, Google Pay or Apple Pay. There is no set up needed. Just tap and ride. Each rider 5 years and older must have their own card or device for payment. Families sharing a credit card number may use contactless payment as long as each rider uses a different physical card or device. Use the same payment method when you enter and exit.
    • Not all transit systems in the Bay Area accept contactless bank cards. If you plan to use other transit, add Clipper to your phone or purchase a Clipper card.
    • You may add Clipper to your phone in advance of arriving to the station instead of having to wait in lines to buy a Clipper card at the station. Clipper is available for mobile phones through either Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Every rider ages 5 and up needs their own digital card. Clipper is a regional transit card that can be used on all transit in the Bay Area. If you are going to ride the Cable Car, ferry, or buses, put Clipper on your phone.
    • BART no longer sells paper tickets.

Taxi & rideshare information:

  • San Francisco International (SFO) Airport:
    • Taxi: One-way fare between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and the Marriott City Center is approximately $39-$50. The designated pick-up area is located at the center islands outside of the Arrivals.
    • Rideshare: Uber, Lyft and wingz rideshare services are available at the airport in the designated pick-up area is located on Level 5 of the Domestic Garage.
  • Oakland San Francisco Bay (OAK) Airport: 
    • Taxi: One-way fare between Oakland International Airport (OAK) and the Marriott City Center is approximately $39-$50. The designated pick-up area is located outside near baggage claim.
    • Rideshare: Uber, Lyft and wingz rideshare services are available at the airport in the designated pick-up area is located between on the 3rd curb at Section 3C2-3C9.
