The Camden Coalition’s Youth Ambassador program was created during the COVID-19 pandemic to help Coalition staff engage with the younger members of the Camden community in order to address their needs and concerns.

The program, comprised of 60 or so volunteers from ages 13 to 22, received on-going training to stay updated on the latest information surrounding COVID-19 and its vaccines.

While they did assist the Community Ambassadors and Coalition staff at events to help spread word about upcoming vaccine events and encourage the vaccine-hesitant to get their shot, the Youth Ambassadors offered invaluable insights on how best to get accurate and timely information to younger generations.

[Youth Ambassadors] felt that there was so much misinformation on social media and that it wouldn’t be a healthy venue for getting out our message. We adjusted our plan to promote these events based on their advice. - Victor Murray
