INSPIRE (Initiating National Strategies for Partnership, Inclusion, and Real Engagement) is a collaborative and coordinated team of organizations and people with lived experience (PWLE) committed to advancing the practice of authentic community engagement (CE) in the US healthcare system.

Phase 1 of INSPIRE consisted of a year-long research and strategic planning phase that included collecting feedback from 300 individuals across sectors and the nation.

The resulting final report released in July 2024 provides a roadmap for how healthcare organizations and people with lived experience can realize the full potential of authentic CE to build trust, advance health equity, create cost-savings and efficiencies, and create healthy and thriving communities.

During this interactive session, members of the INSPIRE team:

  • Shared insights from INSPIRE’s Phase 1 Final Report including key findings and recommendations for CE.
  • Highlighted roles for healthcare executive leaders, professionals leading CE, funders, and PWLE to advance the practice of CE.
  • Led an interactive discussion where participants can share their insights and get questions answered by INSPIRE team members.
  • Introduced INSPIRE’s Community Engagement Learning Network – a new community of CE professionals and PWLE who are dedicated to sharing best practices, supporting one another, and enhancing the field.
