Community & consumer engagement

The Camden Coalition works to build authentic, impactful, and mutually beneficial partnerships with people with lived experiences and support our partners in the field to do the same. Our community engagement initiatives span our local, regional, and national work.

The need in the city of Camden is great. We can help because we’re boots on the ground. A lot of times organizations don’t see what we see. Miguel Rodriguez, Community Advisory Committee member, National Consumer Scholar, and Community Ambassador

We believe it is vital that the experiences of people with complex health and social needs inform our work and the direction of the complex care field. To ensure that health and social care programs understand, respond to, and meet the needs of consumers and their communities, people with lived experiences must be equal partners in the work.

In Camden, both graduates of our care management programs and community residents sit on our Community Advisory Committee and Board of Trustees. Many also serve as compensated Community Ambassadors. We also engage consumer leaders from across the country through our National Consumer Scholars program, and connect organizations with leaders with lived expertise through Amplify, our consumer voices bureau.
