The Camden Coalition introduced the Housing First model to South Jersey in 2015 in response to the high rates of homelessness and lack of low-barrier housing programs for individuals with complex health and social needs in the city of Camden.

This brief provides an overview of our Housing First program, the complex health and social needs of the individuals we’ve housed, their housing outcomes and reductions in emergency department and hospital utilization, and the evidence for the Housing First model.
