Jared Susco named Interim CEO of Camden Coalition
Jeffrey Brenner, founder and leader for 15 years of the Camden Coalition, has transitioned fully into his new role as Senior Vice President of Integrated Health and Human Services at UnitedHealthcare. Jared Susco, the Camden Coalition’s Chief Operating Officer, will be serving as Interim CEO while the Board of Directors continues its search for the Coalition’s next CEO.
Jared has been working at the Camden Coalition for over 3 years. Prior to joining the Coalition, he held leadership positions at the Campbell Soup Company and the Wharton School, and most recently served as comptroller and Chief Financial Officer at Penn Dental Medicine. His leadership background and his role working across departments and projects as COO of the Camden Coalition made him a clear choice by the Board for interim leader. With the help of the Coalition’s Executive Leadership Team, Jared will be taking on all leadership duties at the organization until a permanent successor to Dr. Brenner has been identified.
“I want to thank Jeff for the tremendous job he has done as the founder of the Camden Coalition,” said Kim Barnes, Chair of the Camden Coalition board and Chief Strategy Officer at Lourdes Health System. “As a friend and colleague, I’ve enjoyed working with Jeff and watching the growth and development of the organization over the last 15 years. He has been an exceptional leader for the Coalition and I look forward to continuing to work with Jeff in his new role at UnitedHealthcare.”
“This journey has had many unexpected twists and turns,” Dr. Brenner said. “I never imagined the organization growing to the size and stature it’s become and I never imagined that our work would journey beyond Camden. In my heart, I’m still a malcontent family physician, complaining about the healthcare system, running from room to room in a small office in Camden.”
The Coalition will celebrate Dr. Brenner’s legacy and its fifteenth anniversary with an event in September.
